  Tacrolimus is a macrolide antibiotic that suppresses both cellular and humoral mediated immune responses. It specifically binds T cell receptors, inhibits cytokine production and IgE sensitivity. Used to lower the body's natural immunity in patients who receive organ transplants. Also a topical immunomodulator indicated for use in moderate to severe eczema.
